This game is nice. Nothing really new in the concept but levels are really good.
And there is an awesome music.

It makes me laugh so much when i see my zombie rotating and be totally uncontrollable.
Chance, frustration and skills. A good game.

Nevertheless a detail : a Newgrounds leaderboard could be better than this one.

Making hard games is easy. Making good and hard games is... hard.
Here the concept is interesting. Now, why everything is flashing and makes my brain dying so fast ?
It's useless. The concept alone is already hard to play, so adding soft colours will allow us to play quietly, and only concentrate to our objective.

Adding to that, you should add an automatic replay. It's boring to push R every 2s.

Special mention to the music which is good.

Your game is well-made, Construct2's techniques are greatly used. But it's truly sad and dead.

My advices :
- Add a music (you can find them for free on a lots of websites : jamendo, incompetech...)
- Add happiness (your background is cool and coloured, why is it so dark ? make it brighter and it will enjoy your eyes !)
- It is too easy, for that, you can do some things like :
> adding more mines along the time, because for now, only one by one apparition is not enough.
> moving the spaceship near the center along the time. It will give less time to the player to react when mines are shown.
> speed up the spaceship along the time for the same reason
> why not trying to add more enemies ? (land shooters, missiles as in Jetpack Joyride etc...)

I don't explain that you should add all of them at the same time, because your game don't have to be impossible ! But I try to give to you solutions for making life to your game.

I've updated the game with some improvements:

- Incoming rockets
- Another aircrafts in the background
- More mines along the time
- Jet loop sounds
- A music from bart (an OpenGameArt.org user), titled Xeon Theme Remastered. Which also performed in "STK Enterprise" track in SuperTuxKart.

When i read the scenario, i didn't expect it will be a Space Invader remake !
Nevertheless, the game it great. Sounds, graphics, and gameplay are well-made, the Construct2's techniques are mastered.

BUT.

It's not perfect.
- You need to add a background to your texts, because they are unreadable. A TiledBackground with a plain black color, opacity 50 is sufficient under every text.
- Your game is slow ! Shooting is a patience trick. In my opinion you should speed up the shooting frequency.
- You should add a "hurt" animation for our spaceship when missiles touch us. A "Flash" behavior is sufficient, with a little sound. It's for telling to the player to watch the lives he has.
- No "mute" button.
- You have a little glitch : when i've won a level, if walls are on my way when i go up to the next level, i push them with my spaceship. For repairing that : when the level is won, destroy every objects on the scene ;)

However, it's a good game.

For me, this game has non-sense difficulty. I've done my best for trying to finish one time each level. But i didn't succeed. Your game has all for being a great game : great music, funny graphics and animations. But game constraints are too much restrictive.

I will not talk about "Move" level because it's hard, but if I had more patience, I could finish this level.
Now, "Stack" level isn't winnable. You have 4 constraints : rope movement, turret shots, robot moving and box counter ! When one of these constraints disturb you, you have to reset the level ! And it's very hard when you have 5 boxes stacked to not being shot by the turret. So you reset and reset again.
In my opinion, the box counter can be dropped. Because with that, your game is unplayable.

And for finishing this review : i didn't find the "pause" button, the "go back to main menu" button and the "retry level" button. It can be good if you add them ;)

grandbrinus, you give us high hopes, we put a lot of work on this game, making absolutely all from scratch, with no previous knowledge at gamemaking other than a few little experiments!
And this is the first time anyone notices in particular the music, glad you like it as well besides the graphics and animations :)
We know it´s a very difficult game, so we’ll try to modify some things for future versions. Thanks for checking out our game!

I think it can be a good game with more levels and more sound (+ associated effects, because with only one sound, even on this level i think it's boring)

Yay i loved that game when i was younger ! But there was no stars and lifepoints in it : when you crashed, game was over.

And i love it again with this one !
A half star for the leaderboard !!! My score : 120mph - 4644$

We wondered about leaderboards but again - it didn't feel very authentic. Maybe we're taking this retro thing too seriously though :)

The game is not bad. Graphics and music are good. The game is challenging. However, you need to explain better what the player has to do (as MarksmanM said). The first thing which shocked me was the Play button. Why not writing "Play" in the circle ? Why do I have to wait 5s to see "Push here to start" ? I clicked two times on the star because the first time I played I didnt wait so I didnt know how i reached the credits (and when i was on the credits, i had to imagine clicking will make me return to the main menu... no "Back" button...)

Keep in mind that players don't know your game, your thoughts. They need instructions. But you made something well : the city level, before the planet menu. It can be used as the tutorial level.
And don't forget they have "standard shortcuts" :

Esc / P - Pause
M - Mute
R - Restart level
Spacebar - Next level

This make your game more intuitive.
